FAQs

What can I expect after being accepted as a new puppy owner?

Congratulations! We know there is so much excitement (and maybe some nerves!) building. When a puppy is available for your family, you can expect weekly email updates with photos throughout the pregnancy and the 8 weeks leading up to you bringing your puppy home. Feel free to send in any questions/concerns along the way. We are committed to you and the dog. After purchasing a puppy from us, you will have open access to us the entirety of your dog’s life for any advice needed or questions you may have.

Do you sell older puppies or adult dogs?

At this time, we do not have any available. In the future however, we will occasionally have retired goldens that have aged out of their prime breeding years. These dogs will be fully trained, up-to-date on medical care and spayed/neutered. All pet dogs must be spayed or neutered in accordance to our local laws.

Do you offer shipping for purchased puppies?

We are happy to offer puppies for out of state/country clients, however, we do not currently ship puppies. We ask one of the following:

1) come to us to pick up your puppy in person

2) inquire about our courier service for client residences within a 100 mile driving distance for an additional fee

3) for air travel, we ask that you arrange transport yourself in accordance with your local animal import laws

What is a ‘limited’ AKC registration?

Our primary purpose is to offer you a pet puppy. According the American Kennel Club, ‘limited registration’ means that while your puppy is AKC registered, any litters that come from them cannot be registered. As a part of our sales contract, we require that all pets be spay/neutered as an effort to protect our lines and prevent unexpected pregnancies.

Why do your dogs cost so much?

We believe the price tag on our dogs is reflective of the quality and care put into them. There is great effort put into selecting the parents of each litter, raising a litter of puppies to 8 weeks of age and maintaining our dogs through feeding, training/exercise, and medical care as needed. We treat our animals well as a way of stewarding what God has blessed us with, so that means they need our time, energy and resources. You can be assured that none of your money is wasted - this helps to support the dogs and allows us to continue providing families the joy a Golden brings.

Will my puppy have any training?

We believe that one of the biggest ways you bond with your puppy is through play and training your puppy yourself to meet your expectations. We will be happy to give advice if you’d like as you go through this process. While we do not conduct any formal obedience training of puppies, we do discourage negative behaviors such as inappropriate chewing. They are regularly bathed and groomed to begin desensitization to this practice.

Do you offer breeding/show quality dogs?

While all of our dogs represent the best of the Golden Retriever, we do occasionally have breeding/show quality dogs that stand out in a litter as an exceptional representation of the breed.
